About Golfasian
Golfasian is Asia’s largest inbound golf tour operator, specialising in customised golf holidays, group travel and golf tournaments across Asia.
We work with golfers from around the world, as well as golf courses, hotels, tourism organisations, travel agents, technology providers and other partners throughout the region.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Marketing & Business Development Specialist
to join our team in Bangkok.
This is a varied role covering marketing, partnerships and selected business and digital projects. One day you might be working on a campaign for a golf tournament, another day researching a new partnership, improving part of our website or coordinating the launch of a new customer initiative.
We are not looking for someone who needs a detailed brief for every task. We need someone who can understand what we are trying to achieve, research what is needed, come up with sensible recommendations and then help make it happen. You will manage projects and work with different people across Golfasian, as well as agencies, developers, suppliers and external partners.
What You Will Be Working OnMarketing
You will help plan and coordinate marketing campaigns for our destinations, golf holidays, tournaments and other products.
This will include:
- Newsletters and promotional emails
- Campaign planning and scheduling
- Content, design and video coordination
- Landing pages and advertising materials
- Briefing designers, writers, agencies and suppliers
- Reviewing campaign results and suggesting improvements Partnerships & Business Development We regularly work with companies and organisations across golf, travel, hospitality, tourism and technology. You will help us identify good partnership opportunities and then turn the best ones into real projects. This could involve:
- Researching potential partners
- Looking at the commercial potential of an opportunity
- Preparing proposals and presentations
- Developing joint marketing ideas
- Coordinating campaigns and launches
- Following up with partners and keeping projects moving Business & Digital Projects Golfasian is constantly working on new ideas and improvements across our business. Depending on what we are working on, you may be involved in:
- Website improvements
- Mobile app projects
- New customer programmes
- Partner integrations
- Tournament campaigns
- Hosted golf tours
- New products or services
- B2B initiatives
- Improvements to customer journeys, forms and landing pages You do not need to be a developer or technical specialist. However, you should be comfortable working with digital systems and communicating with developers, designers and other technical people. Getting Things Done You should be comfortable taking a discussion or rough idea and turning it into a practical plan. That means working out:
- What needs to be done
- Who needs to be involved
- What information is missing
- What the priorities are
- When things need to happen
- What is holding a project up
- What the next step should be What We Are Looking For You should have at least five years of relevant experience in marketing, business development, project management or a related area. More importantly, we are looking for someone who:
- Thinks independently
- Is proactive and resourceful
- Is well organised and reliable
- Has good commercial judgement
- Can manage several projects at the same time
- Is comfortable working with incomplete information
- Can research unfamiliar topics and form their own opinion
- Is confident making recommendations
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is comfortable working with different teams, suppliers and partners
- Has good attention to detail
- Follows through and gets things finished
- Knows when to make a decision and when to ask for input Excellent written and spoken English is important. Experience in travel, hospitality, tourism, golf, events, digital marketing or international business would be useful, but it is not essential. Thai language ability would also be an advantage. Who This Role Would Suit This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and likes taking ownership of projects. You should be comfortable being given an objective rather than a complete set of instructions. We want someone who will ask the right questions, do their own research, suggest a sensible way forward and then help execute it.
