Our client is a leading aluminum heat exchangers manufacturer for automotive heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVAC).

The Purchasing Engineer will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, managing procurement activities, supporting new product launches, and driving cost-reduction initiatives. The role ensures compliance with international quality and environmental standards, including IATF16949 and ISO

Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate new suppliers of raw materials to support ongoing and future projects.
  • Manage supplier development activities for new product introductions, including verification of APQP and PPAP documentation.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts in alignment with global purchasing policies.
  • Lead value analysis and value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives for cost optimization.
  • Conduct supplier appraisals, audits, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare purchasing reports and support procurement data analysis.
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ISO14001 and IATF16949 systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing (tier 1 preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Sound knowledge of IATF16949, APQP, PPAP, and quality systems.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
