Position Overview

We are seeking an inspiring Visual Arts Teacher to join our founding team. This role will focus on developing children's creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking through the visual arts while supporting the school's aesthetic and pedagogical environment.

The successful candidate will embrace a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, using the visual arts Atelier as a space for exploration, experimentation, and collaboration. This is a rare opportunity to shape the arts identity and creative culture of a new international school in Bangkok.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning

• Plan, deliver, and assess visual arts lessons across Early Years and Primary (N1–Grade 5), integrating inquiry-based and child-centred approaches.
• Support children's creativity through hands-on experiences, provocations, and exploration of diverse, "intelligent" materials.
• Provide a stimulating Atelier environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration, and self-expression.
• Observe, document, and reflect on children's learning to inform planning and support their creative development.
• Integrate Thai and international artistic traditions into lessons to help students connect with local culture and global perspectives.
• Collaborate with homeroom teachers to link arts experiences with thematic units and cross-curricular inquiries.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including EAL students and children with additional needs.

Atelier and Environment

• Manage and operate the Atelier, ensuring a safe, inviting, and aesthetically rich learning space.
• Provide long-term, open-ended project opportunities that encourage idea generation, exploration, and questioning.
• Maintain a broad range of creative materials and resources, including visual arts, performing arts, and multimedia tools.
• Develop visual displays, portfolios, and documentation to celebrate student work and learning processes.
• Influence the aesthetic and creative environment across the school.

Collaboration and Professionalism

• Support teachers in using arts and creative expression to enhance learning across the curriculum.
• Provide guidance and professional development on inquiry-based arts learning and Reggio Emilia principles.
• Communicate regularly with parents about children's learning, creative progress, and project outcomes.
• Participate in planning meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
• Contribute to co-curricular arts initiatives, exhibitions, workshops, and school events.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Fine Arts, or related field; Early Childhood or Teaching certification preferred.
• 2–5 years of teaching experience in Early Years or Primary education, with expertise in visual arts or creative programs.
• Knowledge of Reggio Emilia pedagogy, inquiry-based learning, and child-centred approaches.
• Experience working with international or multicultural student populations is highly desirable.
• Poficiency in English (spoken and written).
