Primary Spanish Teacher with Potential for World Languages Leadership Responsibility (Starting 2026/27)
(Teaching Qualification (e.g., QTS) & TRN or Equivalent Required)
Bangkok Patana School is seeking an exceptional Primary Spanish Teacher, with potential for World Languages Leadership Responsibility, for August 2026.
The Primary Spanish Teacher plays a central role in delivering high-quality language learning that fosters communication, cultural understanding, and a lifelong love and engagement with languages. They design and teach a rich, inclusive Spanish curriculum that develops linguistic proficiency, intercultural awareness, and confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The role contributes positively to the wider life of the school through collaboration, enrichment opportunities, initiatives and events.
In addition to the core role of Primary Spanish Teacher, there is the potential for an additional middle leadership responsibility, dependent on experience and school need. For the right candidate, this would involve leading the team of World Language teachers; contributing to the leadership and strategic development of the World Languages provision: and working collaboratively across Mandarin, French, and Spanish to ensure coherence, progression, and high-quality practice across the school.
Both role descriptions are included below. Applicants must clearly state in their cover letter whether they are applying for:
· The Primary Spanish Teacher role only, or
· the Primary Spanish Teacher role with World Languages leadership responsibility.
Why Bangkok Patana? Our campus offers state-of-the-art facilities, including specialist classrooms, extensive digital resources, and a thriving extracurricular programme. Set in vibrant Bangkok, you will enjoy one of the most dynamic cities in Asia with a welcoming expatriate community, excellent professional development opportunities, and a supportive, collaborative team culture.
Is this a good fit for you?The ideal candidate will be a highly effective Primary Spanish teacher with strong subject knowledge and a proven ability to engage and motivate learners in developing their linguistic competence and cultural understanding. They will demonstrate secure, reflective classroom practice, high expectations for all learners, and a commitment to inclusive, engaging language learning that supports progress across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification (for example, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent with QTS or an international equivalent) and bring confidence in curriculum planning, assessment, and progression in language learning. They will work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute positively to enrichment and co-curricular language opportunities, and show a strong commitment to ongoing professional growth.
For candidates with relevant leadership experience and aspiration, there is scope to contribute to the leadership of the World Language team. This responsibility may suit a previous Head of Department, MFL Coordinator, or a teacher with middle leadership experience in a Primary or through-school setting and a strong background in language education.
Our Mission and Values:Our mission is to ensure that students of different nationalities grow to their full potential as independent learners in a caring British international community. We develop global citizens who shape their world through independence, empathy, creativity and critical thinking.
Safeguarding Commitment:We expect all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share our commitment and to review and affirm that they have read, understood and will abide by our safeguarding policies. We use recruitment practices and pre-employment background checks to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child safety. These are aligned with the written expectations of the International Taskforce on Child Protection.
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-DiscriminationOur polices and practice are shaped by the diverse international community we serve. We treat all members of our School community including colleagues, students and members of the public fairly and consistently, in a non-discriminatory manner and with proper regard for their rights and obligations.
Application Process:
Interested candidates are requested to apply through the TES portal.
(*Check that you have answered all questions before final submission. Your data previously stored on the old TES portal or Schrole may not always populate the application form as expected.)
Include a bespoke and personalised letter addressed to Primary Principal Sarah McCormack, outlining your educational philosophy, relevant experience, and how your values align with those of Bangkok Patana School.
Upload an up-to-date CV with your fully completed application form. Provide the names and contact details of three referees. In line with our safer recruitment practices, two written references must be from your current employer:
· one from your line manager
· one from your Head of School or Principal.
Successful candidates who are British, or who have lived or worked in the UK for more than six months, will be required to submit a current International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) issued by ACRO.
We reserve the right to make an appointment before the application deadline.
