Sales Engineer is responsible for technical sales activities for construction projects and robot automation systems. This role involves analyzing customer requirements, proposing suitable solutions, coordinating with engineering teams, and driving projects from the pre-sales stage through project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Identify new customers and maintain relationships with existing clients (factories, construction projects, EPC contractors)
  • Visit customers and conduct requirement analysis
  • Present solutions related to:

  • Construction works (structures, plant systems, warehouses)

  • Robot and factory automation systems
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and bidding documents
  • Negotiate pricing, technical conditions, and contract terms
  • Follow up on sales activities and close deals

Technical & Project Support

  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, including:

  • Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation Engineers

  • Participate in concept design development and technical solution planning
  • Support customers during:

  • Site surveys

  • Technical meetings
  • FAT / SAT (for selected projects)
  • Monitor project progress and provide after-sales support
  • Resolve basic technical issues for customers

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering / Automation
  • or related fields
  • Minimum of 3–7 years of experience as a Sales Engineer
  • Experience in sales of:

  • Construction projects

  • Robot, automation, machinery, or factory solutions
  • Experience with Japanese factories, EPC projects, or BOI projects will be an advantage

Technical Knowledge

Construction

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and BOQs
  • Knowledge of building, factory, and warehouse structures
  • Understanding of construction processes and project timelines

Robot & Automation

  • Basic knowledge of PLCs, robots, conveyors, and automation lines
  • Familiarity with industrial robots such as FANUC, ABB, or YASKAWA (concept-level understanding)
  • Knowledge of factory automation and smart factory systems (Industry 4.0)

Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and solve problems effectively
  • Proactive working attitude with strong service mind
  • Ability to manage time and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Language Skills (Preferred)
  • English: ability to use in sales activities and meetings

Working Conditions
  • Combination of office work, site visits, and customer visits
  • Travel to upcountry or overseas depending on project requirements
  • Work according to sales and project timelines
