The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment within the food packaging manufacturing operations. This position ensures operational efficiency, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems across CROWN's manufacturing facilities.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Management & Maintenance:

· Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance planning for mechanical equipment and machinery

· Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot mechanical failures

· Coordinate with maintenance teams to execute repair and overhaul activities

· Maintain detailed equipment records and maintenance documentation

Design & Engineering Projects:

· Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and equipment modifications

· Conduct technical assessments for equipment upgrades and replacements

· Prepare technical specifications and engineering drawings using CAD software

· Manage equipment procurement and vendor technical coordination

· Process Optimization & Improvement:

· Analyze mechanical systems for efficiency improvements and cost reduction

· Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma, TPM)

· Recommend and implement mechanical enhancements to production lines

· Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)

Safety & Compliance:

· Ensure mechanical systems comply with safety standards and regulations

· Conduct safety assessments and risk evaluations of mechanical equipment

· Develop and implement mechanical safety protocols and preventive measures

· Participate in workplace safety committee activities as required

Technical Support & Training:

· Provide technical guidance and training to production and maintenance staff

· Support equipment commissioning and startup activities

· Prepare technical documentation and operating manuals

· Respond to technical inquiries and emergency mechanical failures

Documentation & Reporting:

· Maintain comprehensive equipment files and technical records

· Prepare technical reports and engineering analyses

· Document mechanical modifications and improvements

· Submit regular progress reports to Engineering Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

· Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering

· Experience in manufacturing or food processing industry is preferred

· Experience with maintenance management systems and equipment troubleshooting

· Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent)

· Experience with process improvement methodologies, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
