SQL Database Developer (Good English)

We are looking for an SQL Database Developer who can design, implement, and optimize relational database structures within our PostgreSQL environment.

This role focuses on building robust queries, procedural logic, and supporting the continuous improvement of our data operations in a fast-moving business.

Job responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain relational database schemas that support scalable business processes
  • Develop efficient SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures using PL/pgSQL
  • Optimize performance of existing routines and data access patterns
  • Support internal stakeholders with data extraction, transformation, and reporting needs
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure database reliability, security, and integrity
  • Use Git for version control of database scripts and development assets
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of database standards, documentation, and automation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields.
  • Strong understanding of relational database theory and data-modelling concepts
  • Solid experience writing and debugging SQL queries
  • Ability to develop procedural logic in PL/pgSQL
  • Basic proficiency with Git (branching, commits, pull requests, code review)
  • Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Other skills:

  • Experience with Power BI integration and data modelling for BI purposes
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or similar cloud data storage solutions
  • Knowledge of ETL processes or data warehousing approaches
  • Experience with performance tuning in PostgreSQL
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices for database deployments
