Primary Physical Education Teacher

Modern International School Bangkok (MISB)

Position Summary

The Primary Physical Education Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons that promote physical development, health, well-being, and fundamental sport skills for students in the Primary School. The teacher will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment while supporting the school's mission to foster holistic development.


Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate PE lessons aligned with the Primary curriculum.
  • Teach fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, coordination, and introductory sports.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social development through physical activities.
  • Ensure a safe learning environment during all lessons, games, and outdoor activities.
Assessment & Reporting
  • Assess and record students' progress in physical skills and overall development.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reports.
Activities & Events
  • Organize and support co-curricular and extra-curricular sports activities.
  • Assist in planning and supervising Sports Day, inter-house competitions, and school events.
  • Coach or support school sports teams as assigned.
Collaboration & Professional Conduct
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and other specialist teachers to support holistic learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school functions.
  • Uphold MISB policies on student safety, behavior, and safeguarding.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification or license is preferred.
  • Experience teaching PE at Primary level (international school experience is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of child physical development and age-appropriate pedagogy.
  • Ability to manage diverse learner needs and create an inclusive environment.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for promoting healthy lifestyles, movement, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.
