The employer is a very large retail organization with interests in fashion, footwear and F&B businesses in SE Asia, including Thailand. The Thailand operations of the group include several large format as well as boutique outlets of top-tier brands in different cities.

To provide leadership to the legal function, it is looking for a dynamic legal professional to join the team in its Bangkok office:

Position: Legal Counsel (Real Estate Leasing & Commercial Contracts)

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Role & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will oversee all legal and regulatory matters for the retail, leasing, and real estate operations in Thailand. You'll play a key role in supporting the growth of a multi-brand international retail group spanning premium fashion, lifestyle, and wellness brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate retail lease agreements, renewals, and terminations.
  • Advise on property acquisitions, landlord–tenant issues, and development projects.
  • Manage a wide range of commercial contracts (franchise, supply, distribution, services).
  • Ensure compliance with Thai corporate, labor, and commercial regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks; manage disputes and external counsel.
  • Partner with business leaders and global teams on store rollouts, brand launches, and expansion plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (Thai university); LLM or international degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years' experience in real estate, retail, or corporate commercial law.
  • Strong knowledge of Thai civil, commercial, and property law.
  • Proven experience in retail leasing and property negotiations.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills in Thai and English.
  • Prior in-house experience in retail, lifestyle, or real estate sectors is a plus.
