Procurement Manager

Job Purpose
The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing process. This role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure products, services and materials meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The position plays a critical role in enabling the business to develop and deliver commercially viable, high-quality products by ensuring the right suppliers, materials, and production capabilities are in place.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Supplier Identification & Development
- Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with reliable suppliers, manufacturers, and material vendors across multiple product categories.
- Develop a diverse supplier base capable of supporting a variety of sourcing needs, including fashion, accessories, home décor, and raw materials.
- Conduct regular supplier capability assessments to ensure alignment with business standards, production capacity, and innovation requirements.
2. Vendor Management & Negotiation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure long-term collaboration and mutual growth.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, production schedules, and delivery timelines to achieve optimal cost and quality outcomes.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as quality, compliance, delivery reliability, and responsiveness.
3. Costing & Budget Control
- Prepare, analyze, and manage cost sheets to ensure pricing aligns with profitability and margin targets.
- Monitor global material and production cost trends and proactively recommend cost-optimization strategies.
- Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting related to sourcing.
4. Quality Assurance
- Partner with internal QC teams and external vendors to ensure products and materials meet brand quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee quality checks at every stage of production and escalate issues proactively for resolution.
- Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives across the supplier network.
5. Production & Logistics Coordination
- Work closely with production and planning teams to manage order approvals, scheduling, and bulk production timelines.
- Track production milestones and coordinate logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
- Resolve production and delivery issues promptly to maintain business continuity.
6. Market & Material Research
- Stay informed about new materials, finishes, and production technologies across relevant categories.
- Monitor industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor sourcing strategies to drive competitive advantage.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable sourcing and environmentally friendly materials where possible.
Job Specification :
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Trade, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in sourcing, procurement, or vendor management are advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in sourcing across fashion, accessories, home decorative products, and/or materials.
- Experience managing overseas suppliers, especially in Asia, is highly preferred.
- Proven success in vendor negotiation, supplier development, and cost optimisation.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of global sourcing strategies, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, costing, and vendor relationship management skills.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance processes and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in procurement systems, Excel, and project management tools.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data, costs, and supplier performance effectively.
