Head of P&C Commercial

Job summary:

Responsible for achieving premium income which is generated from commercial business as per defined target and perform underwriting functions/result according to company's policy and guidelines. This position leads intermediated commercial lines channels including key partner banca business, branch generated, direct and Bangkok agent business of assigned LOBs.

Key Accountability:

• Lead and mentor Intermediated Commercial Lines all channels i.e. Brokers and Agency, Branch generated, Direct, Banca and Partnership, Reinsurance Inward Business.
• Comply as per Allianz Group underwriting Standards (Functional Rules) and manage escalations from the team for complex matters requiring senior underwriting authority and decision making. on Engineering and Natural Resources LoB.
• Make recommendations for updating work procedures to improve work efficiency of the business unit.
• Underwrite complex new business and renewals providing quotes in a timely and professional manner.
• Assess market conditions to determine competitive terms & conditions, reinsurance allocation, and find facultative reinsurance to prepare new business quotes and renewal notices for existing clients.
• Participate in constructing Commercial Lines business plan, budget and targets, Activities which support Team and produce productions to achieve target.
• Review market conditions and underwriting performance to identify key target markets and business opportunities.
• Operate interface for ASU process into Regional HQ and AZSE; ensure execution of Allianz Standards of Underwriting in AAGI.
• Assist to ensure that all works under designated responsibilities are performed in accordance with company's policy and service standard.
• Ensure effective collaboration to deliver business objectives with key internal business partners across the organization.
• Communicate and coordinate with customers (both internal and external) to deliver high quality work in a timely manner.
• Supervise, coach and mentor team to develop individual strengths and contribute to culture of good morale and teamwork.
• Model approach of continuous professional development by seeking learning opportunities to enhance your own skillset.
• Producers Result & Performance Monitoring to ensure the achievement of assign target.
• Regular visit to producers and key customers for relationship building up and management.
  Work with Matrix Manager in Reginal Office to growing profitable books and referral incase beyond assign UW Authority.
• Fac RI outward if any require as per approved securities lists.
• Portfolio & NAT CAT Management and monitor to ensured profitability being align with Company

Must have:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in underwriting of Commercial product lines of business, especially in Engineering, Construction and Natural resources.
• Good Engineering background and knowledge
• Experience in coordination with oversea support units or regional office, HQ, Reinsurers.
• Strongly underwriting skill with Insurance knowledge in Commercial product lines
• Leadership and People Management Skills
• Good business English communication

Nice to Have:

• IT knowledge (Intermediate MS Office application, database and internet-based application, Power BI, Data Analytics.
• All LoBs General Insurance Skills and Knowledge in related fields
• Any AI-future skills e.g., ChatGPT, or CoPilot 365, will be an advantage
