About the role

Schaeffler Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is seeking a talented Product Design Engineer (Water Pump) to join our team in Chonburi. As a full-time employee, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative water pump products that meet our customers' requirements and exceed their expectations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Design and develop new water pump products from concept to production, incorporating feedback from customers and internal stakeholders
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the design, functionality, and manufacturability of water pump products
  3. Bench marking of water pump from market and understand product requirement
  4. Design of water pump parts according to customer/benchmark requirements by considering internal and international standard
  5. Focus on standardization of component while designing for new projects
  6. Perform required design calculations, FEA, Simulations etc.
  7. Prepare product drawings (assembly/component) in 2D/3D format according to internal standard requirement
  8. Prepare necessary design documents such as FMEA, design reports, ECN, BOM,.. etc
  9. Lead the product development process of respective projects (including bench marking, product design, prototype and validation) coordinating with internal and external customer's/supplier's
  10. Participate in required customer/supplier meetings and vehicle fitment trail's
  11. Participate in failure analysis / RPA activity and support with necessary inputs to resolve
  12. Analyze and approve special release together with QA
  13. Support cost saving projects, analyze technical proposals and change product if necessary
  14. Support and co-ordinate for component localization activity
  15. Consider new technologies and product innovations on relevant market
  16. Follow Schaeffler complains guideline
  17. Record lesson learns and discuss with relevant teams & apply wherever possible

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineer or a related field
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in product design, preferably in the water pump or automotive industry
  3. Strong technical background in water pump design for passenger/commecial vehicle
  4. Strong understanding of design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes
  5. Languages Skills: English (Mandate) and any AP language beneficial
  6. Software knowledge of ProE/Creo/ANSYS/Windchill/SAP
  7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  8. Co-operative working attitude with strong target orientation
  9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  10. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  11. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  12. Good understanding of manufacturing process knowledge such as Stamping, Heat treatment, Casting, Machining, Injection moulding,..et
