Senior Cosmetic Formulation Chemist (R&D / Skincare & Haircare)

Divyne is a high-growth D2C beauty brand with a dedicated in-house R&D laboratory. We are seeking a Senior Formulation Chemist to take full technical ownership of our product development lifecycle, from bench-top prototyping to mass production scale-up.

This is a pure technical role. You will not be asked to do marketing, purchasing, or design. Your sole focus is the science: creating stable, efficacious, and compliant skincare and haircare formulations that match our strategic briefs.


Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Formulation: Develop formulations from scratch based on a Product Thesis. You must have deep expertise in reverse-engineering benchmarks and creating stable emulsions, surfactants, and anhydrous systems.
  • Stability & Validation: Execute stability protocols. You are responsible for identifying instability risks early and reformulating to solve them. Data integrity is non-negotiable; all test results must be digitally logged.
  • Scale-Up & Tech Transfer: You are responsible for the "manufacturability" of your formulas. You will oversee pilot batches, define mixing speeds/temperatures for production tanks, and generate the Master Batch Records for the factory.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations meet FDA standards. You will review raw material documentation (COA/MSDS) to validate safety and compliance before a formula is finalized.

Required Technical Expertise

  • Seniority: 5+ years of hands-on experience in a cosmetic R&D lab. You must be able to work autonomously without technical supervision.
  • Chemistry: Strong grasp of rheology, emulsification theory, and preservation systems. You should be able to look at a failed sample and diagnose the root cause immediately.
  • Process Discipline: Experience working with digital formulation databases and strict version control.
  • Lab Management: Ability to maintain a GLP-standard (Good Laboratory Practice) environment, including equipment calibration and hygiene.
