Role Overview

The Logistics Team Leader is responsible for managing and overseeing daily logistics operations to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain, with a specialized focus on chemical warehouse operations. This includes supervising logistics staff, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging SAP to optimize inventory, transportation, and warehouse processes. The role ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, particularly in handling hazardous materials, and drives continuous improvement aligned with company standards.


Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Lead and supervise logistics personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing training in chemical handling, safety protocols, and SAP usage.
  • Conduct performance reviews and coach team members to enhance productivity and compliance.

Chemical Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee storage and handling of chemical products in various packaging formats (e.g., 55L, 200L, 1000L IBCs).
  • Ensure proper segregation, labeling, and documentation of hazardous materials.
  • Coordinate with EHS teams to maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and safety standards.
  • Monitor warehouse layout and implement SAP bin allocation for optimized space utilization.

Logistics Operations

  • Manage inbound/outbound shipments, route optimization, and transportation scheduling.
  • Collaborate with 3PL providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure quality checks prior to dispatch.

SAP System Utilization

  • Use SAP to monitor inventory levels, process orders, and track shipments.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and generate KPI reports to support decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot SAP logistics module issues and coordinate with IT for resolution.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations across logistics functions.
  • Maintain documentation for chemical movements, shipping, and receiving.
  • Report logistics performance and identify areas for improvement using TPM and other methodologies.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in logistics or chemical warehousing.
  • Proficiency in SAP logistics modules and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of hazardous goods handling and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Professional in SAP System.
