Our client is growing vibrant retail brand known for creating unique lifestyle and homeware products that blend creativity and functionality. Our client prides itself on showcasing distinctive, thoughtfully chosen items that stand out from standard retail offerings. They have now expanded to over 50 stores in Asia and currently employs over 300 employees. Our client is seeking a General Manager to take on a crucial role in managing the Thailand operation and strategies in the following capacity.
The General Manager will be responsible for leading the overall business in Thailand and expanding the business. This involves overseeing the sales, operations, market share, and category performance. The successful candidate's overall duties and responsibilities are outlined as follows:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee business performance in Thailand, covering sales, operations, and profitability.
- Partner closely with Category/Merchandising teams to refine product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional plans.
- Analyze sales results and category insights to identify growth opportunities and improve market positioning.
- Drive initiatives with Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations to boost traffic, conversion, and customer engagement.
- Manage the Thailand P&L, budgeting, and cashflow; enforce financial controls and oversee banking-related activities.
- Enhance operational processes, service standards, and overall store performance.
- Lead and develop the Thailand team, ensuring strong performance management and alignment with business objectives.
- Manage relationships with key external partners, including mall operators, suppliers, and logistics providers; represent Thailand in regional discussions and planning.
Qualifications:
- Qualified to a degree level in Management or related subject.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Thailand's retail or consumer sector, ideally with category management or merchandising background.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability, with proven success in driving sales and category expansion.
- Solid experience managing P&L and cashflow.
- Hands-on leadership style suitable for a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Thai. Proficiency in Chinese or Burmese language is an advantage.
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
