Job Purpose:

Manage and implement policies and directions for the operations of buying and merchandising including analyzing product management and selecting product group under responsibilities following market trend and organization target, to ensure effective buying and merchandising aligning with organization goal, and achieve highest profitability & gross sales.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate with suppliers in buying and merchandising products under responsibilities, to ensure effective operations within approved plans and budget, along with achieve profitability and gross sales.
  • Monitor stock under responsibilities to ensure stock and gross sales performance aligning with the policy.
  • Monitor analysis of market, trends, product popularity, customers, and relevant information of products under responsibilities to prepare for product management planning.
  • Research for new products interested by target group to satisfy customer needs and drive gross sales.
  • Collaborate with the store operation to develop and implement strategies to drive sales.
  • Monitor sales performance and profitability of merchandise.
  • Adjust pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Collect other income under responsibilities to support income and achieve gross sales as planned.
  • Coordinate with suppliers in term of documentation to manage relevant documents aligning with policy and regulations to support buying and merchandising effectively and maintain relationship.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers promptly and effectively.
  • Provide knowledge and update about products and shelf organizing to operation team.
  • Build and maintain relationship with partners.
  • Lead and mentor a team and provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience in sourcing and/or buying in import fresh food products and minimum of 1-3 years of team management.
  • Familiarity with retail and wholesale merchandising best practices.
  • Proven experience as a Merchandise Manager or in a similar role within the wholesale industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
