About the Role:

Senior Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring the
availability, performance, security, and integrity
of the bank's production databases. This role provides technical leadership in database operations, supports mission-critical banking systems, and ensures database services operate reliably and compliantly within a regulated Virtual Bank environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:


•Operate and manage production databases to ensure high availability and performance.


•Perform database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.


•Lead database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.


•Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive health checks.


•Implement and enforce database security controls, access management, and encryption.


•Monitor database systems and respond to incidents and alerts.


•Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex database issues.


•Collaborate with Application, Big Data Platform, Cloud, and Security teams.


•Support database-related audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance requirements.


•Maintain database architecture documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.


•Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance.


•Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance database stability, resilience, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:


•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


•Minimum
5–7 years
of experience in database administration or database operations.


•Strong hands-on experience with enterprise databases (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, TiDB).


•Proven experience with high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.


•Good understanding of database security, access control, and encryption.


•Experience supporting
mission-critical production systems
in regulated environments is preferred.


•Familiarity with cloud-based databases (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP is a plus).


•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience supporting
24x7 operations
is preferred
