Deputy Chief flight Instructor Bangkok (DCFI - BKK)

Reports to Deputy Head of Training / Chief Flying Instructor

Primarily - UKCAA / EASA Regulations

**Objective**

The primary objective of the Deputy Chief Flight Instructor (DCFI) is to ensure that the training provided by the Approved Training Organisation (ATO) meets or exceeds the requirements outlined by appropriate National Aviation Authorities. The DCFI is responsible for maintaining high standards of instruction, student performance, and overall training program quality in accordance with Part-FCL (Flight Crew Licensing) and other applicable regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**

The DCFI is responsible for the following duties:
Compliance with relevant NAA Regulations
- Ensure that all training programs comply with the relevant EASA regulations, including:

- Reporting twice weekly to the CFI on progress on the centre and providing a weekly updated report
- Part-FCL: Requirements for flight crew licensing.
- Organisation Requirements for Aircrew: Requirements for the management and operation of training organisations.
- Authority Requirements for Aircrew: Oversight and reporting requirements to competent authorities.
- Ensure all instructional activities align with the ATO’s approved training manuals, syllabi, and applicable safety management systems (SMS).

**Training Delivery**
- Deliver ground school and flight training (where applicable) to student pilots in accordance with the approved syllabus and training program.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure that learning objectives are met.

**Student Assessment and Evaluation**
- Conduct regular assessments of student performance through oral, written, or practical exams as required by the ATO’s assessment standards.
- Recommend students for skill tests or examinations when they are deemed ready and ensure that performance meets the required competency levels.

**Instructional Standards and Continuous Improvement**
- Ensure all instructors maintain a high standard of teaching, upholding the instructional quality in line with NAA and ATO standards.
- Participate in regular instructor training and standardisation meetings to ensure consistency in training delivery and assessment.
- Promote continuous improvement in training methods and materials, incorporating feedback from students, instructors, and external audits.

**Safety and Compliance Monitoring**
- Support the ATO’s Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting safety hazards, contributing to risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety.
- Ensure that training is conducted in a manner that prioritises safety and adheres to operational procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.

**Standardisation and Quality Assurance**
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and standardisation checks to ensure compliance with EASA and ATO standards.
- Collaborate with the ATO’s Compliance Monitoring Manager to address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues identified during audits.
- Ensure that appropriate training records and documentation are maintained in accordance with EASA requirements and ATO policies.

**Support for Examiners and Oversight**
- Liaise with authorised examiners and provide support during the conduct of skill tests, proficiency checks, and instructor assessments.
- Assist with the preparation of students for their exams, including EASA licensing tests (e.g., PPL, CPL, ATPL).

**Qualifications and Experience**
**To effectively fulfill the role of Training Standards Instructor, the individual must meet the following qualifications:
1. UKCAA / EASA-Approved Instructor Certification
- Hold a valid EASA Instructor certificate relevant to the training being provided TRI (Type Rating Instructor) (TRE (Type Rating Examiner)

**Relevant Flight Crew License**
- Hold a valid UKCAA / EASA flight crew licence, Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Have a proven track record of instructional experience in an ATO or equivalent environment.
- Experience conducting training in accordance with UKCAA / EASA standards and overseeing student progress in both theoretical knowledge and flight training.

**Compliance Knowledge**
- Familiarity with the ATO’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance programs.

**Authority**
The DCFI has the authority to:

- Recommend students for exams and skill tests upon satisfactory completion of training.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations in accordance with the ATO’s approved standards.
- Provide input to the ATO’s management regarding updates to training programs, syllabi, and instructional materials.
- Halt training or recommend corrective action if safety concerns or regulatory non-compliance are identified.

**Reporting Structure**
- The DCFI will report to the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI),
- Regular communication with the ATO’s Compliance Monitoring Manager and Safety Manager is required to ensure a
