Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Law
At Least 8-10 years' legal experience from large scale company
Expertise in PDPA. FBL / FBC / BOI and business license related
**A DAY IN THE LIFE**
- Delivering support in defined Legal & Compliance areas, as determined by the General Counsel, and supporting the development of long-term strategies to accelerate the Legal & Compliance team’s ability to protect and enable the organization in those areas.
- Proactively training the organization on the Legal & Compliance areas that the individual supports.
- Working closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders at all levels (potentially including senior management) to provide expert and business-focused day-to-day counsel across a broad scope of issues. As part of this, the individual will work collaboratively with the Local, Zone and Global contacts to leverage synergies and global expertise for the benefit of the local business and support the Center/Zone on Centre/Zone-led strategic initiatives including the implementation of Legal & Compliance technology, as well as collaborating on market specific requests from the Center. Identifying and exploiting cost-saving opportunities whilst maintaining quality and ensuring that Legal & Compliance solutions in their area of responsibility are standardized and systematized to the extent possible
- considering the differing needs of the various businesses and the legal digital tools available.
- Other specific key outputs may be required if the Legal & Compliance personnel is performing a specialist role:
- To develop and have training session for clients regarding promotion / marketing practices as required by law and corporate policies.
- To manage, instruct and manage external lawyers on FBL / FBC / BOI and business license related.
- To provide support on anti-counterfeiting initiatives. Anti-Trust is a plus.
- To provide proactive training on relevant policies, procedures and laws / regulations affecting the business.
- To provide PDPA advice in all aspects and manage PDPA/ROPA per legal requirements.
- To provide support on corporate secretarial matters, agreement drafting/review, competition law, labor law, etc.
- To provide support on customer / competitor complaints and product liability issues.
- To manage corporate secretary’s task (minutes of boards and shareholder meetings) and update all data in Entities.
**ARE YOU A FIT?**
- Law Degree or other applicable professional designation from recognized and accredited school or certification body
- Member in good standing with the applicable legal or professional body
- At least 8-10 years of relevant Legal & Compliance experience
- Knowledge of all applicable Legal & Compliance areas that are owned by the individual
- Prior in-house experience, preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry, is an asset
- Experience in a large law or other professional firm is an asset
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Expertise in accountable Legal & Compliance areas (identified above). PDPA is a plus.
- Pragmatic business sense and understanding of core business fundamentals
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze and interpret data
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to translate complicated Legal & Compliance concepts to understandable business terms
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Bilingual/Multilingual ability is an asset
