Main Job Purpose:
Contact flexibles accounts for 22% of total global packaging spend & is the 2nd biggest growing formats across BGs. Southeast Asia & South Asia are the biggest spend market followed by Latam & Europe. Thus, flexible packaging plays an important role in helping many categories / businesses across UL to grow, improve margins & stay competitive in the market. Flexibles also plays a very important role in the overall plastic commitments of Unilever globally.

This role will oversee the implementation of the global strategy and operational activities pertaining to the Flexibles portfolios within SEAT market as well as contribute to the SEAT business for value improvement ideation, analytics, and driving efficiencies & key projects in the market.

This is a techno-commercial role where, understanding of packaging, supplier landscape, cost models will be utmost important to help businesses grow & also stay profitable. Plastic Sustainability is also a key element for the role.

Key Accountabilities:
This pivotal role will play a critical part in implementing and executing portfolio strategies and agenda in the SEAT market.
- Create and implement sourcing strategies in line with Unilever’s global portfolio strategies to deliver savings, innovations and sustainability
- Support portfolio strategy execution and reporting of all key initiatives including cost-effective programs - 5S initiatives, ZBB programs, NMCI mitigation.
- Ensure competitive buying through thorough cost model analysis, benchmarking and execution of buying strategy (i.e. e-tender)
- Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with suppliers, ensuring products are delivered at high quality and service and with compliance to Unilever’s responsible sourcing.
- Lead buying/supply resilience initiatives and co-drive specs optimization/sustainability projects with R&D
- Develop supplier base and resiliency
- Understand market trends and do price forecasting.
- Support category strategies and work closely with cross functional teams (Planning, Sourcing Unit, R&D and Marketing) to deliver key projects.
- Handle procurement-related day-to-day activities under his/her scope to ensure smooth and continuous operations

Professional Skills:

- Procurement professional with at least 3 years of experience across procurement operations & buying
- Expertise in buying preferably in flexibles packaging & hardcore buying skills
- Strong Negotiation & communications skills
- Digital and analytics knowledge
- Experience in senior stakeholder management & working matrix organisation
- Financial acumen for business cases and reporting
- Experience in Procurement transformation projects, tools and technologies.

Experience Required:
ESSENTIAL
- University degree
- At least 3 years solid experience in Procurement, Sourcing & Supplier Operations
- Good buying, negotiation and contracting skills
- Expertise in supplier development, preferably in packaging space
- Good understanding of Sustainability, circular economy and processing technologies
- Experience on large-scale project management roles
- Demonstrated and proven leadership capabilities to lead a virtual global team
- Experience of working in matrix organisation structure
