Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners with 174 member states and a presence in over 100 countries. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
**_Context: _**
Disasters in the past decade have caused 225 million internal displacements in Asia and the Pacific, accounting for 78 percent of the global total. Typhoons, floods, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions emerged as primary drivers, leading to 22.6 million new displacements in 2022 alone, comprising nearly 70 percent of global disaster displacement. At the same time, climate-induced internal displacement from slow onset events is expected to increase dramatically. In the worst-case scenario, up to 48.4 million people in East Asia and the Pacific and 40.5 million in South Asia may be forced to move by 2050.
In response to these trends, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) launched an initiative aiming to increase understanding of current and future impacts of climate change and natural hazards, especially as it relates to migration and displacement. As part of this vision, and utilising improved data and forecasts, IOM and its partners will support governments and communities to increase the resilience of populations most likely to be impacted by climate-induced displacement and putting in place measures to enhance prevention, preparedness, and reduce or address non-economic loss and damage.
As part of these efforts, and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab for Asia-Pacific, IOM is seeking an Administrative Associate to support the Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD) co-creation initiative. RICD is a data model for predicting future climate displacement risks in the Asia-Pacific region. The project involves collaboration with universities and other institutions to develop, refine and integrate various modules of the predictive model.

**_RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- **
- Perform a variety of administrative duties, e.g. HR document processing, procurement, finance, reporting, leave and attendance recording, budget preparation and follow-up; coordinate with other units to ensure smooth running and expedition of work within the unit.
- Coordinate office support services for meetings, trainings, seminars, committees, and special projects and events; attend meetings, prepare minutes, monitor follow-up activities; make arrangements for formal editing, translation, etc., of documents and publications.
- Review, record, distribute and process incoming mail and correspondence; follow-up on pending actions; prepare draft responses to a wide range of correspondence and other communications, often requiring knowledge of technical terminologies and/or detailed office procedures; carry out quality control functions for outgoing documents; proofread texts for adherence to format, grammar, punctuation and style.
- Research, compile, and organize background information and reference materials from various sources for reports, briefs and speeches; generate a variety of statistical and other reports from various databases.
- Monitor and process administrative actions (human resources, contracts, procurement, accounting, finance, logistics) in IOM's computerized systems.
- Assist to prepare internal reports, presentations, talking points, speeches, statements and briefings as relevant to CMIL.
- Create and maintain the work unit’s filing and reference systems; review the efficiency of office procedures and make recommendations for improvements; update office websites.
- Support the development of graphic design materials, and content for the Lab’s website, social media channels, and internal and external newsletters.
- Participate in conferences, workshops and meetings related to the thematic area of expertise; and
- Perform other duties as required.

- High school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related fields from an accredited institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
