Position Overview
Orders all food and beverage including operating supplies based on business needs. Assists Purchasing Supervisor and Operating Departments are in maintaining/lower budgeted food/controllable costs.
Assist with generating and providing accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. Compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, or verifies information or data.
Communicates with kitchen, restaurant management, other operating department and vendors to ensure timing of deliveries satisfies advanced items needs.
Ensure that price and product availability issues are communicated as needed to the concerned department.
Assist in receiving and inspecting all deliveries. Maintain an accurate controllable log and beverage perpetual. Ensure accurate administration of all invoices.
The Role
Purchasing Officer should have sufficient knowledge of the regular items needed by the hotel operation and should collect information about that can delivery such goods and services.
The selected vendors should periodically be invited to participate in bidding process. The time period of market list items for bidding process will be 30 days. In order to keep the purchasing price constant for certain period, a fixed price system is preferred.
Before the end of each current period, the Purchasing Supervisor should request written quotation for all market list products from the selected vendors.
Once all data is collected, the Purchasing Supervisor should formally prepare a comparison list.
Assists Purchasing Manager and Culinary team in all aspects of purchasing (e.g., Food, Beverage and Controllable) to ensure quality and profitability.
Orders all food, beverages and all operating supplies based on business needs.
Delegates and enforces first in/first out inventory rotation for all storeroom products.
Communicates with kitchen, restaurant management, departmental users and vendors to ensure timing of deliveries satisfies advanced food production needs.
Maintains inventory controls for proper levels, dating, rotation, requisitions, etc.
Ensures that price and product availability issues are communicated as needed.
Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to Purchasing Manager.
Assist in receiving and inspecting all deliveries when Purchasing Manager assigned.
Follow company and department policies and procedures.
Talent Profile
Minimum one (1) year of experience in similar role in a luxury resort / hotel.
Part qualification in a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Business Management, preferably specializing in Supply and Logistic Management.
Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) and knowledge in procurement systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team
- player and good at cultivating strong guest relations.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Excellent complex problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills & detail oriented.
