We are part of the APRIL Group, a global insurance specialist with 2,300 staff in 16 countries.

To sustain the company's growth and expand our services, we are currently looking for a **Legal & Compliance Manager
- Asia**.**
- As an experienced professional with relevant in-house and law firm experience, you will support our business in the region with all legal and compliance matters. The role is a new position and we are looking for a highly motivated, proactive individual to integrate compliance and legal function into our Regional Finance Team._
- The role is based in our Bangkok office. Still, you will be supporting our regional organisation with companies in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and China, and business partnerships in Indonesia, The Philippines and Dubai._

**Principal responsibilities**:

- Prepare, review and evaluate legal documents - principally service agreements with providers, customers and distribution intermediaries
- Scoping and delivering compliance projects as required by an evolving regulatory environment, often in collaboration with our insurance company partners
- Implement and maintain internal policies in accordance with Group guidelines and local legislative requirements
- Act as the local contact for the Group Head Office in the areas of risk assessment, data protection and internal audit
- Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance in the organisation
- Review product documentation and terms & conditions
- Liaisee with company secretaries on preparation and submission of statutory documents, board resolutions, AGM/EGM and other governance matters
- Maintenance of professional indemnity insurance

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 5-6 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment
- Must have an excellent command of written and spoken English to a native or near-native level
- Commercially minded and pragmatic
- Experience in working in an international environment and comfortable dealing with multiple jurisdictions
- Not expected to have a detailed knowledge of all regulations and legal systems in the regional scope but must be willing to research and consult outside sources where necessary
- Knowledge of insurance regulation is desirable but not essential
- All nationalities considered.
