**Job Description**:
**Senior Legal Counsel**

We are looking for an individual that is legal and compliant trained with strong business acumen to fill the position of **Senior Legal Counsel**. Any digital and technology background will be a plus point. You will be part of the core legal team overseeing the legal and compliance needs of AirAsia. You will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.

**Purpose of Role**

Provide professional and practical legal advice fused with commercial sense as well as to provide compliance and governance support to AirAsia and its subsidiaries.

**Accountabilities**
- Identify legal risks and alternative strategies in a defined area.
- Ensure documents accurately reflect business and commercial concerns and are consistent with legal obligations.
- Proactively monitors for changes in relevant laws and regulations and caters for those changes accordingly.
- Evaluates exposure of business to legal risks and acts to mitigate exposure
- Appropriately resolves common legacy and liability issues that may have a legal impact
- Work as part of a team and with both internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Contribute to the team and future legal initiatives with focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement and driving sustainable culture of change.
- Work largely independently but collaboratively within a virtual team to provide cross-support and guidance and needed. Dimensions

**What You’ll Need**:

- Law degree and professional legal qualification with strong academic background and minimum 10 years post-qualification experience working in a law firm or legal department of a medium to large international corporation.
- Fluent written and spoken English & Thai.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in explaining legal concepts and issues in simple language to non-lawyers and providing succinct, accurate and comprehensible legal advice.
- Knowledge of the legal areas relevant to e-commerce and digital including contracting and procurement
- Ability to understand and take account of business drivers and needs, and to draft contract with appropriate understanding and interpretation of the business and commercial intentions
- Strong influencing, negotiating and facilitation skills
- Exposure to international civil and/or common law contracts
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with clients at all levels and in a range of cultures.
