Hiring: English Data Linguist for AI Startup (remote)

We need someone who knows what language is, how meaning is related, and how it works. And can explain it to human and machine, both in ontological representation. Knowledge of ontology and epistemology (as per metaphysics) would help greatly.

**Specifically, the Ontologist will**:

- Development of domain specific ontology
- Development of common-sense ontology
- Collaborate with other Computational Linguists to integrate data

**Basic Qualifications**
- Graduate degree in Information Science, Linguistics, Philosophy or equivalent professional experience
- Experience using and developing formal ontologies
- Experience translating business requirements into technical/functional ontology implementation for the engineers
- Experience deploying ontologies
- Experience in scripting
- Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and linguists
- Ability to quickly understand and master novel frameworks
- Minimum 2 years of experience

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Expertise in building ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic relation frameworks
- Experience in programming in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in using grammars to interpret novel structures
- Experience with statistical language modeling
- Excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and detail oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
- Experience with Universal Dependencies & Penn Treebank II Tags
- Familiarity with the 3 the types of logical reasoning (Deductive, Inductive, and Abductive)

**Condition For Employment**
- Work remotely but willing to travel to Seoul every two months for 6 ~ 8 weeks, or perhaps more often/a bit longer (once the COVID pandemic is under control)
