We have an exciting opportunity for a
**Senior Maritime Surveyor** to join our team of Maritime experts in technically supporting all marine casualties of any type and size worldwide.
**What you will be doing.**:
As our
**Senior Maritime Surveyor,** you will support the Principal Surveyor and offer guidance to Staff Surveyors. You will also assist in delivery of business to provide sufficient surveyor coverage in geographic areas of responsibility. Furthermore, you will need to be familiar with all aspects of ABL Maritime services and key deliverables and will need to undertake your own chargeable time. In addition, you will:
- Need to familiarize yourself with all aspects of ABL Maritime services and key deliverables.
- Need to attend casualties and determine nature, extent, and cause of damage.
- Estimate costs of repairs and subsequently compile reports for Clients.
- Partake in business development activities including the promotion of Maritime Engineering Consulting with local and international clients.
- Assist in marketing of ABL Maritime and its services.
- Offer guidance and training to staff surveyors.
- Assist QA deliverables and ensure quality of product.
- Maintain own level of billable utilization above 60%.
- Work on other duties as assigned.
The role is office-based in
**Sriracha, Thailand **and the incumbent will have the right to work and reside in
**Thailand.**
Flexibility and willingness to travel as well as readiness for onshore/offshore assignments at short notice locally and globally for periods would be required.
**What we are looking for.**:
- Be a Chief Engineer (STCW class 1) or equivalent with significant survey / Maritime consultancy related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have at least 5 years’ relevant experience within the Maritime Surveying and consultancy industry.
- Have a strong track record in Maritime claims or salvage.
- Have had exposure to vessel and machinery repair procedures.
- Have accurate reporting and the ability to deliver high quality work on time.
- Be assertive and buoyant, forward-thinking with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
- Be a well-organized and self-directed individual with strong business/commercial skills.
- Be outgoing and pragmatic with strength of character, proactive and insightful with good time management skills.
**Desirable-**
- Held command or Chief Engineer position on board.
- Shore based management experience.
- Previous experience from similar role.
- Other applicable experience (salvage master, SCR, pilot etc.).
- Experience with more complex claims.
- Knowledge of local repair facilities and salvage options.
- Experience in authoring expert opinion reports.
- Previous shore experience from similar role.
- Good client base.
- Ongoing book of Maritime claims or consultancy work.
