**Job Overview**

The Budget Analyst
- I provide financial planning and analysis support to businesses. Manages business reporting by consolidating and analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management. This position will also help facilitate the annual budgeting process for businesses & departments. This position will administer management reporting, including, monthly report creation, analysis & distribution. In addition to financial responsibilities, this position should be strong with Accrual principles, capital vs operating expense classification, and depreciation & amortization principles.

**Description**
- Analyzing and understanding variances, recognizing trends and/or anomalies, and predicting (forecast) annualized year-end of the business operations, expenses, and capital budgets. Communicates and presents data findings and forecasts in a concise and understandable method to management and provides monthly forecasts, documenting any changes from prior months' forecasts.
- Completing month & quarter-end financial reporting - monthly report creation, analysis, and distribution within specified agreed timelines.
- Assisting finance in Month end closing process and financial deck preparation.
- Performing other departmental administrative tasks as necessary - Assist with revenue analysis, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- May provide direction to other staff members.
- Handling other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

**Work Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1.5 - 3 years of finance budgeting analysis or general finance experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Good command of English.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Intermediate experience with financial management systems (e.g. SAP) is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to articulate ideas and thoughts clearly through various means, including written and oral communications within a multi-level organization.
- Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team of both onshore and offshore resources.
- Highly accurate with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask various requests or projects, meet deadlines, and proactively communicate status updates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrating the ability to quickly grasp new concepts.
- Ability to identify potential process redundancies and inefficiencies and propose improvements.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, strong analytical, consulting, and facilitation skills.
