The General Manager, Operations & Business Services plays a critical role in aligning plant performance with Group objectives and industry standards, contributing to the company’s long-term success and competitive edge. This position works closely with other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that drive organizational growth and sustainability.
**Key Responsibilities**
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for standardization, process optimization, innovation, and cost reduction in operations.
- Establish and drive plant objectives to meet production targets, quality standards, and budgetary requirements.
- Steer long-term planning initiatives to ensure the company’s operational readiness by effectively collaborating with senior management to define objectives, goals, and performance metrics.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage resources, including human, financial, and material, to optimize operational performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational success.
- Oversee all aspects of plant production, ensuring that production schedules are met.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Analyze operational data and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems.
- Address quality issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
Team Leadership & Engagement:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and standards.
- Set performance expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching and development opportunities for direct reports.
- Develop talent pipelines and succession plans for key roles in the organization.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and manage recruitment, training, and retention of employees.
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement programs and initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and motivation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance processes, technologies, and systems across all operations.
- Streamline processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Identify and rectify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production process.
Technology, Innovation & Product Development
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the company competitive.
- Implement digital transformation initiatives to enhance production and operational capabilities.
- Support and collaborate with R&D and product development teams to bring new products to market.
- Ensure operational readiness for new product launches.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and product improvements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and other applicable laws.
- Remain updated on regulatory changes and promptly integrate required adaptations.
Maintenance and Equipment:
- Oversee the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
- Ensure machinery is in good working order and maintenance schedules are adhered to.
- Plan for and manage capital projects and upgrades.
Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
- Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure availability of raw materials.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize production without overstocking.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage operational budgets.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
- Work with the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Stakeholder Management:
