Addiction and Mental Health Therapist

**Full-time on-site Addiction and Mental Health Therapist position for PHUKET, THAILAND residential addiction rehab**

Asia has been, for many years, supporting people and families to recover from addiction, co
- occurring disorders / mental health issues, and the effects of addiction.

The therapist contributes to the provision of a safe, ethical, and hospitable environment for clients seeking recovery from addiction, by:

- providing quality addiction and co-occurring mental health disorder(s) / issue(s) therapy to allocated clients
- demonstrating excellence in client biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, treatment progress documentation, discharge planning, client charting, and formulating clinical discharge plans and summaries
- effectively counseling client’s family members / significant others, as applicable, in understanding addiction, client co-occurring disorder(s), the client’s treatment, and supportive behavior versus enabling behavior
- facilitating psychoeducation groups
- working collaboratively with client’s mental health professional referral source (as applicable) and continuing care provider(s) for enhancing seamless client care
- working collaboratively with other staff members

**Selection Criteria** (**PLEASE NOTE**: If your resume does not reflect a work history of a minimum of 5 years of experience working in addiction treatment, **please do not apply** for this job.):

- Minimum of Master’s level (licensed preferred): Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Mental Health Counselor, or related field
- Your work history MUST demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience treating populations with addiction, with a preferred minimum of one year working in an addiction residential rehab environment.
- Your work history MUST demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of experience treating co-occurring disorders, e.g., depression, anxiety, trauma.
- Proficiency in ensuring high clinical standards
- Experience with trauma-informed therapy
- Ability to motivate clients for treatment and recovery
- Knowledgeable and experienced in conducting psychosocial assessments (history taking), developing and executing treatment plans, writing quality therapy session notes, assisting client in developing a discharge plan, writing quality Discharge Summary reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent English proficiency required in both written and verbal communication

**Workplace Relationships**:

- Reports to Clinical Director and Managing Director
- As part of the Clinical Team, the therapist collaborates with other therapists, support workers, nurses, volunteers, interns, 12-step facilitators, and group facilitators

**Probation Period**:
90-Day probationary period

**Compensation**:
120,000 baht (gross salary) per month
