Guard Force Commander (GFC)

**Location**: U.S. Embassy - Chiang Mai, Thailand
**Position contingent upon award.**
The Guard Force Commander (GFC) must have experience and qualifications on a range of security-related skills and have a verified record of proven reliability and good conduct.

**Duties**:

- Supervise 50-100 guards at a diplomatic facility.
- Prepare guard orders, deploy guards, conduct musters and perform weekly scheduling.
- Conduct regular inspections of guards and guard posts and investigate any irregularities.
- Maintain inventory reports and investigate any irregularities.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations regarding discipline matters.
- Oversee the guard training program.
- Oversee program logistics to include explosives detection and X-ray equipment.
- Act as a point of contact with the U.S. government representative.
- Ensure guards are properly uniformed, equipped and staffed.
- Plan, coordinate and lead the guard force during training and emergency response drills.
- Maintain flexible work schedule, which may include evening, weekend and holiday work.

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Risk management skills, including problem identification and problem solving.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Advanced security training.
- Experience with risk management, including problem identification and problem solving.
- Familiarity with recent trends and threats in Thailand.
- Record of proven reliability and good conduct.
- Experience in all areas of physical security and access control.

**Requirements**:
**Citizenship and Residency Requirements**:

- Must be a citizen of Thailand, a U.S. citizen, or a Third Country National in possession of a valid current work visa for Thailand (if applicable) or have the ability to obtain a work visa prior to the start of employment.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for Thailand.

**Required Experience and Education**:

- Minimum of ten years experience in the military, police or guard force with proven experience in leadership roles is required.
- Note: A four-year course of study leading to a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration or management may substitute for four years of military, police or guard force experience.
- Minimum five years’ work experience in Thailand.
- Must have completed secondary education, high school or possess a national diploma.
- Advanced security training is also required.
