Job Purpose:
An Application Manager is an IT specialist who owns the end-to-end lifecycle of the organization's business and integration applications. Responsibilities cover requirement gathering, solution design oversight, delivery and deployment, operational support, and continuous improvement of the assigned application portfolio. The role works closely with development teams, cloud and platform teams, head office application teams, external service providers, and business users to ensure that applications are secure, reliable, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) APIs that retrieve and expose data from the Operational Data Service (ODS).
- Shared services that consume and orchestrate calls to external / third-party APIs.
- In-house AI-related applications, such as Q&A chatbots and medical document summarization services that perform OCR on medical documents and generate summaries.
- Applications developed by group office that must be deployed as Docker images, including requesting and coordinating Azure resource provisioning and configuration. Responsibilities:
- Own the full application lifecycle for the assigned portfolio, from requirement gathering and solution design review through deployment, operation, enhancement, and decommissioning.
- Manage and maintain ESB APIs that retrieve data from the Operational Data Service, ensuring data accuracy, performance, availability, API versioning, and backward compatibility of published contracts.
- Manage and maintain shared services that call external APIs, including credential and certificate lifecycle, rate limits, timeout and retry design, error handling, and monitoring of provider SLAs; coordinate with external providers on incidents and change notifications.
- Manage in-house AI applications (e.g., Q&A bot, medical document summarization with OCR), including monitoring output quality and accuracy, managing model and prompt versions, controlling inference and token cost, and establishing a user-feedback loop for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the deployment of head office applications as Docker images: review release packages, request Azure resource provisioning and configuration, validate environment configuration and connectivity, and confirm readiness before go-live.
- Work with the cloud and platform teams to define resource requirements, sizing, network and access requirements, and to ensure deployments comply with enterprise cloud standards.
- Plan and manage application releases and change requests through CI/CD pipelines, including release scheduling, impact assessment, rollback planning, and change advisory board (CAB) submission.
- Act as the primary escalation point for application incidents and problems; drive root cause analysis, coordinate resolution across teams and vendors, and implement preventative improvements.
- Define and maintain application monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards; track availability, performance, error rates, and usage, and report service levels to stakeholders.
- Ensure applications comply with information security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements, with particular care for sensitive and medical data handled by AI and OCR workloads.
- Maintain the application inventory and documentation, including architecture and integration diagrams, API catalogs, configuration baselines, run books, and operational procedures.
- Manage application capacity, cost, and license usage; identify and drive optimization opportunities.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity planning and execution, including participation in DR drills for the assigned applications.
- Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and end-of-support/upgrade planning for application components and dependencies.
- Manage vendors and outsourced development partners, including scope, deliverables, quality, and SLA compliance.
- Communicate with business users and management on application roadmap, project status, risks, and issues; gather feedback and translate business needs into technical requirements. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant field is preferable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application management, application development, or system integration, with at least 2 years in a lead or coordinating role.
- Solid understanding of API and integration technologies, including REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), API Gateway / APIM, message queues, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience integrating with external/third-party APIs, including authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, API key, mTLS), rate limiting, and error handling.
- Working knowledge of data services and databases (relational and NoSQL), SQL querying, and data flows between operational data stores and consuming applications.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes / AKS), including image management, configuration, secrets, and deployment troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with requesting and configuring cloud resources (App Service, AKS, Storage, Key Vault, networking, and related services).
- Good knowledge and experience in DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Familiarity with AI/ML application concepts is a strong plus, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), vector databases, OCR/document intelligence services, and evaluation of model output quality.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Grafana.
- Understanding of application security and data privacy practices, including secure coding principles, secrets management, access control, and handling of sensitive or medical data.
- Experience with ITIL-based service management processes (incident, problem, change, and release management).
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple applications, priorities, and stakeholders concurrently. PMP, Scrum, or ITIL certification is a plus.
- Any Cloud or AI Technology Professional Certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-system issues.
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to manage project stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams. เพื่อให้เป็นไปตามมาตรฐานและนโยบายการคัดสรรบุคลากรของบริษัท เอไอเอ (ประเทศไทย) หลังผ่านการคัดเลือกแล้ว ผู้สมัครต้องได้รับการตรวจประวัติอาชญกรรมก่อนเริ่มงาน ทั้งนี้ บริษัทจะเก็บประวัติอาชญากรรมของท่านตามนโยบายข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลของบริษัท รายละเอียดตามลิงค์แนบ [https://www.aia.co.th/th/about-aia/privacy/candidate] In accordance with recruitment policy and hiring standard of AIA (Thailand) Company Limited, after completing the selection process, you are required for criminal background check before joining the company.
