Key Responsibilities
include the following: 1. Purchasing Management
• Manage Rayong commodity sourcing within budget to meet project timeline for key commodity frame, foam, trim & plastics
• Enhancement and development of sourcing, contracting, spot purchasing, and contracting strategies. Negotiation to ensure all parts sourced meet or are below project target
• Fully responsible for Rayong plant’s projects material purchasing, manage supplier performance and drive annual cost saving activities to meet regional purchasing target
• Further develop existing suppliers. Continuously improve supply quality and prices reduction performance to meet the target. Good sense & analysis skill of cost breakdown, “should cost” benchmark and supplier negotiation skills.
• Identify new potential suppliers by visiting and evaluating, develops and updates commodity strategy, reviews new add/change suppliers to ensure a qualified, low cost, and strategically located supply base to support current and anticipated material requirements
• Develop strategy to achieve year over year saving target for related commodities, total cost management concepts required in line with Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific & Global sourcing strategy in a matrix organization structure
• Manage and develop, guidance team of Purchasing commodity people across functional under matrix organization
• Represent and maintain a close network with industry leaders in the supply market and challenge existing concepts introducing creative new professional sourcing solutions
• Strive to derive maximum "Value Creation" cost by employing the most appropriate tool/method relevant to the different supplier’s relationships
• Maintain regular contact with the material planning and logistic team, Plant Leader & Business Leader to ensure services are aligned to business need
• Good presentation skills, regularly attend the global sourcing meeting and present the sourcing review file to management. 2. New and Advance Project sourcing
• Able to work with cross functional teams and support new project requirements and involve new project material cost, inbound/outbound freight quotation including the package cost and duty rate
• Translate RM demand to Purchase orders & follow up until delivery to ensure surety of Supply
• Support on sourcing customers’ requirements in order to minimize volatile market, supplier disruptions effects to continue securing timely and high-quality goods at a lower cost without jeopardizing news project and plants operation 3. Program Purchasing
• Manage and control new program sourcing, cost tracking, supplier launch readiness among commodity team
• Center of program information and interface with other stakeholders as a representative purchasing 4. Compliance & Team Development
• Uphold the highest standard of quality and integrity. Ability to train, lead and motivate cross functional team verifying active implementation
• Ensure all sourcing, bidding and PO activities follow up the correct process and SOX requirements. 5. Logistic Sourcing
• Lead service awarding and manage proper contract control and validity for spot bidding RFI/RFQ including with urgent quotes (e-PTA) both manual and e-procurement system such as COUPA
• Release PO logistic based on user requests, either Direct Material or Indirect Material shipment via COUPA system
• Maintain / Validate rate-card into foundry system for payment released and support logistic spend audit by global
• Support in negotiation with suppliers for most competitive price and ensure deliverables to achieve target delivery date, cost, quality and specification
• To conduct purchasing activity within Lear policies, procedures, ISO/IATF standards and meeting SOX requirement
• New Logistics Service Provider onboard activities (MDM Registration & Approval)
• Manage and coordinate with Logistics service provider to provide qualified data
• Coordinate with plant logistics team to ensure all exceptions are solved and responded in timely manner
• Support and coordinate with APO logistics team for annual contract bidding (Ocean / Air / Domestic Transportation / Warehousing / Custom Brokerage) Qualifications
• Degree in Science or Engineering with at least 7 years of experience in Sourcing/Purchasing experience.
• Strong integrity, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive issue resolution, process improvement, and change management.
• Good analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of global supply chain and MS Office proficiency.
• Fluent in English.
• Overseas exposure and systems knowledge are a plus.
• Willing to be based in Rayong, Thailand.
