Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily container yard operations, including container receiving, storage, inspection, dispatch, and inventory control.
• Ensure efficient yard utilization and optimize container flow to maximize operational efficiency.
• Monitor equipment availability and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Ensure operational targets, KPIs, and service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
• Lead, supervise, and develop yard supervisors, operators, and supporting staff.
• Conduct workforce planning, scheduling, and performance management.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, transport companies, customers, customs authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Address operational issues and customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery.
• Monitor container inventory accuracy and yard utilization.
• Prepare operational reports, performance analyses, and improvement recommendations.
• Ensure accurate documentation and system updates related to container movements.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
• Support automation, process improvement, and digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in container terminal, container yard, logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or related operations.
• At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of yard operations, container handling equipment, and logistics processes.
