QA Software Engineer

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain test suites for applications across multiple interfaces (e.g., web/app UIs, APIs, services, chatbots) and their underlying data.
  • Execute tests and ensure internal quality of all deliverables before they reach clients.
  • Develop scripts, tools, and workflows to speed up testing and data inspection.
  • Work with engineers and product managers to run system-level investigations, identifying issue origins, failure conditions, and impacts.
  • Translate user and business needs into clear, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Propose, design, and develop test strategies, test cases, and validation plans for features in development, ensuring they are testable and have measurable quality criteria.
  • Select and apply appropriate testing methodologies (e.g., regression, exploratory, integration, end-to-end) based on risk and impact.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, QA practices, and modern web-application behavior.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to infer system structure and edge cases from incomplete requirements.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: web/mobile/cross-platform development or automated testing frameworks.
  • Proficiency with scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to create suites, small tools, helpers, or data-inspection utilities that support testing.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux development environment.
  • Understanding the needs and challenges of working in a startup environment.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB and PostgreSQL (or willingness to learn both).
  • Knowledge in Go (Golang) is a plus.
