Purchasing Manager – FMCG Manufacturing

Our client is a listed FMCG manufacturing company with large-scale manufacturing operations in Thailand and overseas. The company runs multiple production plants, sourcing high-volume raw materials, and operates under strong governance standards with a stable business platform.

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost optimization for raw materials supporting FMCG manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead purchasing strategy for key raw materials used in FMCG manufacturing, particularly plastic resins and packaging-related materials (e.g. PE, PP, PET, films, laminates)
  • Plan and manage procurement to support continuous high-volume manufacturing operations
  • Analyze and manage raw material cost volatility, especially oil-linked plastic resin pricing, inflation, FX, and volume planning
  • Source, negotiate, and develop local and overseas suppliers of plastic resins and related materials
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while ensuring material quality, supply stability, and production continuity
  • Oversee supplier performance, KPI evaluation, audits, and development plans
  • Work closely with Production, QA, R&D, Finance, and Planning teams on material specification, quality, and cost optimization
  • Lead and coach purchasing teams across group companies
  • Manage supplier quality issues and raw material claims until full resolution
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields
  • 7–10 years of purchasing experience in FMCG or manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience in plastic resins or packaging raw materials is highly preferred
  • Strong background in supplier negotiation, cost control, and sourcing strategy
  • Experience in import & export procurement
  • Leadership experience managing purchasing teams
  • Good command of English
