THE JOB
Walking Tree leaders are all unique, well-traveled, dynamic individuals who travel with groups of American high school students. Leaders help cultivate cultural awareness for participants, communicate with the program director, organize daily activities, and facilitate the safest, most memorable experience possible. It's like being a camp counselor, but so much more The programs last between ten days and two weeks. Educators, recent college graduates and graduate students tend to be great matches for this position. Program Leaders will attend a virtual training to prepare them for the job.
Candidates must be available to travel with a group of students in Thailand from
January 6-15, 2026

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be a person who lives permanently (or at least the vast majority of the year) in Thailand, has a profound understanding of the culture and language, and speaks at least English and Thai fluently. He or she is someone who has worked with young adults, traveled extensively in the host country, and supports the ideals of community service and cultural exploration. The individual is organized, self-motivated, understands customer service, comfortable with budgeting, and has a flexible schedule. Finally, we are looking for someone who is fun-loving, passionate about the transformative power of international travel and who works well within a team.
