General Summary of Position:

This role of R&D Manager (equivalent to Principal Chemist / Scientist) will lead

Lifestyles R&D team's effort on end-to-end operational excellence within ongoing

R&D activities, creation and driving of evidence strategy in R&D, managing

external testing, work as interface with safety, quality and compliance

workstreams.

The role will be 100% hands-on calling on individuals to directly

lead initiatives and also indirectly through the reporting team.

The secondary focus will also be on tracking competitive activities and improvement of

operational quality in labs / PP.

The role will be an office based in Bangkok and

will require close working with the rest of R&D team in Surat Thani.

Responsibilities' & Specific Accountabilities

Evidence strategy

• Leading cross functional team efforts on identification of evidence needs in R&D (consumer, non-clinical safety, clinical safety data) and work with them to finalize evidence strategy.
• Leading wider team alignment (global quality, RA, R&D, legal) on bridgability of data and identify hot spots for new validation activities.

Project Management

• Management of external service providers and expert consultants for safety assessment, clinical assessments and drive more value through verification where possible.
• To plan, collect requirements, organize budget creation for full next year and drive tracking of budget and reporting to finance.

External tracking

• Track ongoing external activities from competitors on clinical studies, new registrations and new product launch to create executive
• Summaries for top management and also feed into innovation strategy.

Operational quality improvements through reporting team

• Carryout a review of R&D quality SOP needs and conduct gap analysis vs QMS.
• Delivering upgrades to SOP (delegating where needed with rest of R&D
• Driving remediation and data management activities.

Accountabilities / Authorities

• Creation, alignment, and delivery of evidence strategy.
• To provide support on management of external parties involved in evidence delivery.
• To execute external deliverables on time within project budget
• To drive through the reporting team on future improvements to R&D documents, data management and remediation of data.

KEY POSITION REQUIREMENT

Education

• Preferably a master's degree holder in science and technology (polymer science, biotechnology, chemistry or chemical engineering)

Job Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as entry or middle level R&D manager or Senior Associate.
• Prior experience in medical device / pharma / health care R&D would be an advantage.
• Experience in regulated product categories with proven interaction with safety, quality, compliance, and regulatory teams.
• Proven ability and successful track record of delivery with cross functional teams.
• Good knowledge of how R&D team functions within context of emerging business.

Must have

• Ability to communicate in English and Thai is a must have,
• Past experiences of working successfully with wider cross functional / cross cultural teams.
• Managing business meetings with remote teams as needed.

Additional Requirements (travel, etc.)

• Occasional visit to Surat Thani for few days to co-work with rest of teams on need basis.
