Job Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of cost accounting activities, including recording transactions for imported products, and overseeing inventory management control and analysis. Ensure that the company's product and service costs are properly allocated in accordance with corporate procedures and financial accounting standards. Key duties include recording landed costs, analyzing variances between estimated and actual landed costs, managing cost and inventory transactions, maintaining product cost accuracy, and preparing monthly cost and inventory reports to provide reliable data for management decision-making.


Responsibilities:

  • Record and verify A/P invoices related to inventory purchases from domestic and international suppliers, including shipping expenses.
  • Review PO, GRN, and supplier invoices to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Allocate and record landed costs (freight, insurance, customs duties, etc.) for imported products.
  • Monitor estimated landed cost variances, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update product cost data in the accounting system.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure cost accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze various reports: cost reports, inventory movement, inventory aging, stock-on-hand, and GP reports.
  • Provide cost trend analysis and insights to support management in pricing and profitability decisions.
  • Conduct cost simulation and profitability analysis for strategic planning.
  • Handle month-end/year-end closing for inventory and cost accounting, including reconciliations and stock counts.
  • Prepare reserve for stock obsolescence, damaged stock, and valuation adjustments.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting related to product costs.
  • Control and analyze project costs as assigned.
  • Support external audit activities and recommend cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in costing with strong analytical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of costing principles, preferably in a trading environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify numerical errors
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and ERP (Oracle is an advantage)
  • CPA or other relevant accounting certification is a plus
