Pastry chef for matcha cafe

About the role

We are seeking a talented Pastry Chef to join our vibrant and innovative matcha cafe in Phra Khanong, Bangkok. As a full-time Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually stunning pastries, cakes and desserts that showcase the unique flavours of matcha.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and produce a range of high-quality pastries, cakes and desserts with a focus on matcha-based creations
• Ensure all baked goods meet the highest standards of taste, presentation and consistency
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal and innovative menu items
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary ingredients and supplies
• Provide training and guidance to junior pastry staff to uphold our high standards

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a high-end cafe or restaurant setting
• Formal culinary training or a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts
• Demonstrated expertise in creating a variety of pastries, cakes and desserts, with a focus on matcha-based items
• Strong understanding of food costing, inventory management and quality control
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the culinary team
• Passion for using high-quality, fresh ingredients and creating visually stunning desserts
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
