Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Technician to operate and maintain the STAR SR-20JII Swiss-type CNC lathe. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FANUC control systems, tool setting, and part inspection. You will be responsible for setup, programming adjustments, daily machine operation, and ensuring that finished components meet precise quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

· Operate STAR SR-20JII Swiss-type CNC lathe for precision component production

· Set up tools, workholding fixtures, and adjust machine offsets

· Modify and optimize G-code programs for process improvements

· Monitor machining operations and ensure adherence to drawing specifications

· Perform part inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators

· Conduct routine maintenance and monitor tool life and coolant status

· Identify and resolve machining issues and alarms independently

· Coordinate with engineering and QA teams to resolve quality or process issues

· Maintain accurate production and inspection records

· Ensure compliance with safety and 5S procedures in the work area

Qualifications

· High school diploma or technical certificate in CNC machining or related field

· Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC lathes, preferably STAR SR-20JII

· Familiarity with FANUC controls and Swiss-type machining principles

· Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T symbols

· Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code for program edits

· Experience with bar feeders and sub-spindle operations is a plus

Professional Skills

· Proficient in machine setup, tool offsetting, and troubleshooting

· Hands-on skills in precision measurement and quality inspection

· Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail

· Effective time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Basic computer skills for inputting job data or using CAM output (optional)

· Communication skills to report issues and work collaboratively
