Overall Purpose:Responsible for leading complex AP activities, ensuring accurate invoice processing, compliance with tax rules, and assisting the AP Manager with month-end closing and process improvements.

Accounting Payable Senior Officer

Your main role is to:

  • Review and verify vendor invoices, GR/IR matching, coding, and posting into the ERP system.
  • Monitor AP ageing and follow up on outstanding items / debit balances.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly payment proposals and ensure timely payments in line with company policy.
  • Review VAT and withholding tax calculations; prepare tax filings related to AP (e.g., PP30, PND 3/53).
  • Perform supplier account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support month-end closing activities including AP accruals, GR/IR clearing, and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to AP junior accountants and assist in training.
  • Maintain vendor master data and ensure documents comply with SOP and internal controls.
  • Liaise with Procurement, Receiving, and Treasury teams to support operational flow.
  • Implement and execute the automation way for AP booking
  • Support audits by preparing AP schedules and responding to auditor queries.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Accounts Payable
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, WHT, and AP accounting principles
  • Good command of ERP systems (SAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude, proactive, and service-minded
  • Team-oriented with ability to coach and provide guidance to junior staff
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
