Starch Engineer

The Starch Engineer is responsible for the development and scale-up of oil-treated starch products for food applications. This role involves leading formulation development, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring product performance aligns with customer requirements across Asia Pacific and global markets.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and optimization of oil-treated starch products for food applications

• Collaborate with Technical team to ensure product performance meets customer expectations

• Partner with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to ensure high-yield, consistent, and scalable manufacturing processes

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during scale-up and commercial production

• Document and communicate technical findings and process improvements

Qualified candidates will have:

Mandatory requirements:

• 10–15 years of experience in the food starch industry as a starch developer or process engineer

• In-depth knowledge of starch chemistry, modification techniques, and analytical methods including Design of Experiments (DOE)

• Proven experience in manufacturing oil-treated starch for food applications

• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams including technical, engineering, production, and quality

• Fluency in at least one Asian language to support regional collaboration and communication
