Context / Scope:

D&T plays a critical role in enabling Company's digital agenda through delivering our strategic priorities in many areas, including E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Demand Sensing and Manufacturing Optimisation .

The Technology Engagement Team sits within the Enterprise Services team and the aim is to enable greater stability and security through a structured and consistent approach to delivering IT operations. The D&T Enterprise Services organisation is responsible for running a resilient and secure technology landscape at agreed service levels, at lowest cost, securely and compliantly, while improving performance.

The Technology Engagement team is responsible for ensuring that all services required at Company's site are delivered as agreed with continuous improvement and to deliver successful day to day business engagement.

The Technology Engagement Lead role is a business-facing role with a requirement for technical understanding, but more importantly, the ability to understand and communicate effectively with the business. The role ensure effective and efficient delivery of new tech deployments, ongoing service, support, stability and compliance across their markets.

Dimensions

a) Financial

Financial responsibility for managing and supporting the following to agreed scope, timescales and budgets:

  • Working with the central D&T Finance team to ensure oversight and coordination of the market D&T budget AOP (annual operating plan) and financial O&R (Opportunities and Risks) reporting.

  • Oversight of project budgets for in scope service delivery / enterprise projects and discrete pieces of work carried out in market and managed through the local AOP.

  • Ensuring the right CAPEX and budget approval processes within the markets, and feeding back to central project teams to ensure accurate milestone reporting at agreed frequencies.

  • Ensuring that locally managed purchase orders and good receipting processes are carried out in a timely and compliant manner and working in partnership with the Regional IT Cost Center Manager for those purchase orders managed centrally by the Operational Excellence team.

  • Identify and execute against cost optimization in the delivery of services and enable company cost reduction

b) Market Complexity

The role will be for Demand market but have accountability and responsibility for IT operations and technology engagement. It is expected that the role supports and has a high level insight of the complexities of markets and also contributes to other activities (Championship Model) across the regional / global sites either virtually or through limited travel and other activities across the wider Regional D&T TE team.

c) Leadership Responsibilities

Span of responsibility:

  • Management of the Company's TE Supply team

  • Management of the outsourced third party technical services supporting the markets

  • Proactively engage with end users and local deskside support (DSS) teams to identify and support on-going business needs, coordinate communications and events to keep them informed of service reviews, improvements plans, outages and techs available seeking to deliver a brilliant Technology Engagement.

  • Help address escalations from the business regarding D&T tech and processes.

  • Maintain oversight of local market application controls and supporting the market information / cyber security management in conjunction with the central application support / value stream teams.

  • Embed and communicate improvements and changes to workplace technologies, services and security

  • Maintain oversight of deployments of up-to-date IT infrastructure platform standards (laptops, network, VC, WiFi, etc) and the deployment of Diageo Workplace technologies and ensure that appropriate service structures are in place to provide stable and reliable services.

  • Act as market point of contact (in conjunction with global Value Stream and also Regional D&T teams) on transformational initiatives /activities and ensure actions required to be carried out in market are addressed and tracked in an effective and efficient manner

Decision making responsibility:

  • Follow the framework that has been set by Company to provide approvals related to hardware issuance, software installation (where applies), and any other

Relationship within D&T and with other functions

  • Work with other Regional Technology Engagement (TE) Operations Managers as part of the Technology Engagement Leadership team to foster a Global TE community, create engagement opportunities and lead by example through visible use of collaborative technology.

  • Act as a point of contact for business stakeholders within the market for D&T Services ( in conjunction with Value Stream and Regional teams ) and help to identify opportunities to improve D&T services supporting business needs within the global support model and framework.

  • Build and maintain relationships within D&T function regionally and globally.

  • Build and maintain relationships, and interact with local and central IS service partners in conjunction with Procurement team.

  • Support training of end-users on tools and services and identifying where additional training is needed

The primary function of this role is to support the markets to ensure a high-quality employee experience related to D&T Technologies and Services in the region.
