Key Responsibilities
Research & Technology Leadership
Define and drive the Research & Technology platform for the food business.
- Lead advanced research in raw materials, processing technologies, formulations, and food technologies.
- Monitor and evaluate food technology trends, innovations, emerging ingredients, and global standards.
- Establish and manage collaborations with universities, research institutes, and external partners.
- Set the strategic direction and NPD roadmap aligned with overall business strategy.
- Drive the development and expansion of new products across starch, food ingredients, and syrup portfolios to support mid- and long-term business growth.
- Identify and develop new product concepts by leveraging the company's core technologies and capabilities to enter new markets, applications, or customer segments.
- Manage the innovation and product pipeline to ensure a balanced portfolio of quick wins and long-term, high-value innovation initiatives.
- Lead the transfer of formulations, technologies, and processes from R&D to manufacturing plants.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and QA teams to ensure effective scale-up.
- Resolve technical challenges during commercial production (process, yield, cost, and quality).
- Ensure full commercial readiness prior to mass production.
- Ensure all R&D and product development activities comply with food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work in close coordination with QA, Food Safety, and Regulatory teams.
- Manage risks related to technology, formulations, and commercial production.
- Lead, develop, and strengthen R&D, NPD, and Technical Deployment teams.
- Build a strong talent pipeline and succession plan within the food R&D function.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in food R&D and/or NPD, including leadership roles.
- Proven experience in scaling up research outputs to commercial production (industrialization).
- Strong understanding of laboratory, pilot-scale, and full-scale manufacturing environments.
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to work effectively across functions.
