Purchasing Officer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team at Gardens of Eden, a leading landscaping and construction company based in Thalang, Phuket. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of materials, equipment, and services to support our construction projects.

What you'll be doing

1. Identifying and evaluating suppliers to ensure we obtain the best quality materials and services at competitive prices
2. Negotiating contracts and managing relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions
3. Placing and tracking orders, ensuring timely delivery and monitoring inventory levels
4. Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to understand their requirements and ensure materials are available when needed
5. Maintaining accurate records of all purchasing activities and preparing reports as required
6. Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes and implement cost-saving measures

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the construction industry
2. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
3. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
4. Proficiency in using procurement software and other relevant IT tools
5. Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards
6. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
