Key Responsibility:

Innovation Strategy & Planning

  • Support Category Manager – NPD in developing a
    profitable innovation pipeline
    and roadmap for the Ovaltine brand.
  • Conduct continuous
    market analysis, competitive research, and consumer insight studies
    to identify white spaces, unfulfilled consumer needs, and potential new product opportunities.
  • Define the marketing mix
    (product, price, place, promotion) and
    business case
    for each new product launch.
  • Prepare and present new product concepts and business cases to secure
    internal stakeholder buy-in,
    articulating the strategic rationale and financial projections (P&L/ROI).

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead the cross-functional NPD project management
    from initial concept ideation and prototype development through to commercialization and launch.
  • Collaborate closely with
    R&D, Consumer Insight, Brand Marketing and Finance
    to ensure product technical feasibility, cost-efficiency, and adherence to quality/regulatory standards.
  • Manage the
    NPD project timelines, resources, and budgets (A&P)
    , ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Execute all product mix elements
    (e.g., product packaging & claims) in collaboration with design agencies, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Manage and influence both
    internal and external stakeholders
    (Brand Marketing, R&D, TMKT, Sales) to drive the NPD agenda forward.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor and analyze
    new product performance post-launch
    using sales data, market share data, and consumer feedback, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Lead assigned
    ad-hoc projects
    related to product innovations and renovations.

Internal: Brand Marketing, Consumer Insight, R&D, Trade Marketing, Sales, Finance

External: Design Agency, External Partners

Person Profile

  • Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Marketing or Business related fields
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of hands-on experience in Brand Management or Product Management within an FMCG company is a must.
  • Proven experience in working on new product development and project management
    (e.g., Stage-Gate) is highly desirable.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Strong Analytical and Commercial Skills
    – ability to analyze complex data (sales, market share, consumer data) to identify key issues & opportunities, and to support the development of business cases.
  • Proficiency in Consumer Insight
    – demonstrated ability to
    utilize and interpret
    both qualitative and quantitative consumer insight to inform new product development and execution.
  • Excellent
    Project Management and Organization Skills
    – highly effective at managing timelines, tracking resources, and juggling multiple NPD projects concurrently.
  • Effective Interpersonal and Collaboration Skills
    – able to communicate clearly, build strong internal/external relationships, and
    influence cross-functional teams
    (e.g., R&D, TMKT) to drive project completion.
  • Excellent English communication skills
    (both spoken and written) with good computer literacy (especially in MS Excel and PowerPoint).
