Overview

Motiv Creative Labs is seeking a skilled and motivated Freelance Mobile App Developer to spearhead the development and maintenance of our cross-platform fintech application. This role is ideal for a developer with a strong foundation in React Native and the Expo ecosystem who has a proven track record of successfully submitting and managing apps on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

The Project: Fintech Mobile App

You will be working on a cross-platform personal finance application targeting iOS, Android, and Web. The app leverages a modern, serverless architecture to provide users with financial insights and automated experiences.

Primary Tech Stack:

  • Framework: React Native with Expo
  • Language: TypeScript / JavaScript
  • Navigation: React Navigation
  • Backend: Supabase (Authentication, Postgres, Edge Functions)
  • Integrations: Plaid (Bank connectivity) and LLM providers for AI insights
  • Operations: Expo Application Services (EAS) for builds and releases

Details

  • Type: Contract role under a General Services Agreement.
  • Rate: BHT ฿633/hour (CAD $28/hour), paid per project.
  • Location: Candidates must be based in Thailand.
  • Goal: We are looking to build a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship.

Must-Have Qualifications

1. Mobile Development Expertise

  • Proven experience developing and deploying React Native applications.
  • Deep familiarity with Expo and EAS for development and production lifecycles.
  • Successful history of submitting apps to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript and responsive mobile design.

2. Backend & Integration

  • Experience working with Supabase.
  • Understanding of secure data handling and environment-based configuration for secrets.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs, especially experience with Plaid.

3. Soft Skills

  • English Proficiency: Minimum B1 (Intermediate) level for verbal and written communication.
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision—highly self-motivated and proactive.
  • Collaboration: Ability to sync effectively with a remote project manager and team.

Preferred & Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with project management.
  • Experience with managed background jobs and task orchestration for async workloads.
  • A passion for the creative intersection of AI and mobile technology.
