Job Description – Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ensure reliable and efficient data integration across systems.
  • Build and optimize data platform to support both structured and semi-structured data.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Analysts to enable advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security across the entire data platform.
  • Work closely with infrastructure teams to manage access control, backup, and compliance/regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, ETL or pipeline development.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL).
  • Knowledge of data warehouse, data lake architecture and data management control framework
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing.
  • Experience with at least one cloud data platform (e.g. Google BigQuery, Azure, Databricks).
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality and security best practices.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, Google Analytics,
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
  • Hands-on experience integrating data from various sources (APIs, streaming platforms, files, SharePoint, PowerApps).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with effective communication and teamwork abilities.
