School Nurse

We are looking for a professional school nurse (RN) who serves in a pivotal role that bridges health care and education. Grounded by standards of practice, services provided by the school nurse include leadership, community/public health, care coordination, and quality improvement.

Position Responsibilities

• Manages the overall health well-being of students and staff.
• Staffs and Teachers. The overall well-being of staff is directly related to the ability to teach and to work with students. The school nurse will handle medical emergency for students, staff and visitors to the school.
• Responsible for any submission, documents related to the health of students and staff to the health ministry, education ministry and other organizations as required.
• Responsible for creating and announce the approved policies related to healthcare for the school. This include work instruction and standard operating procedure. This will require the school nurse to spear head new projects, organize meetings and work with other departments within the school as required.
• Care coordination:  To coordinate with the hospital(s) and other healthcare resources/professionals as well as management to provide the appropriate medical option for the students and staffs. The school nurse will understand the insurance plans as well as other economic factors available to the students and staffs and incorporate this knowledge into the recommendation made.
• Other health related functions as required by the school management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with License (RN)
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while staying organized, calm, and focused.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills to engage with children and understand their needs, ensuring compassionate care.
• Good command of English
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience; experience working with children is a plus.
