The Director of Sales oversees all sales activities for GOCO Hospitality's owned and managed properties, which include wellness-centric hotels, resorts, and spas & wellness centers. This role is crucial in managing both reactive and proactive sales efforts, developing strategic sales plans to enhance brand visibility, drive revenue growth, increase market share, optimize sales expenses, and forge strong relationships with guests and partners.
The Director of Sales will spearhead segmented sales initiatives (e.g., group, transient, corporate, MICE/event businesses, agencies, governmental) across all GOCO's properties, aiming to meet segment-specific revenue targets and overall property goals while ensuring guest and employee satisfaction. This position demands a candidate who is not only experienced in various international hotel brands but also deeply passionate about wellness hospitality, with strong team leadership skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
o Lead and drive the top-line revenue strategy for traditional and digital sales segments, including group, volume transient, and catering.
o Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics, directing sales teams to meet or exceed budgeted revenues.
o Manage key travel partner accounts (DMCs, wholesalers, travel agents), ensuring robust qualification processes, relationship building, and maximization of opportunities.
o Maintain a comprehensive sales database and assist the Commercial Director in budgeting and pre-opening sales strategies for new properties.
o Collaborate with the Marketing Director to develop and implement a marketing communications plan to achieve desired positioning for the resorts, managing the sales budget to support revenue goals.
o Develop and maintain strong external relationships, including regular sales calls, attending industry events, and participating in trade shows and external marketing activities.
o Utilize appropriate sales tools and platforms to develop and enhance the customer database, ensuring effective use and integration.
o Manage and supervise the property sales team, ensuring adherence to SOPs, accuracy in data entry, and high-quality customer service.
o Provide training and support to property teams to ensure effective implementation of sales principles.
- Needs a hands-on approach and the ability to work well within teams.
Position Pre-Requisites:
o Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
o At least 10 years of sales experience with international hospitality brands.
o Demonstrable experience in hotel industry work, showing progressive career growth and exceptional performance.
o Proven track record in strategic sales planning and implementation aligned with financial objectives.
o Experience in wellness hospitality is highly desirable.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Opera, Hotel Sales Pro, Salesforce, or other sales platforms.
o Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with a well-documented history of initiative and success in a team environment.
o Excellent communication skills in English and Thai, both written and verbal, are essential.
o Candidates with less experience will be considered for Assistant Director or Manager.
